Metro Rod Brighton & Gatwick CCTV camera technology allows our engineers to take a close look at the inside of drains, pipes and sewers. Using our camera surveys we can quickly identify problems caused by age and tree roots that can cause problems, creating blockages and causing water to leak into the surrounding soil. This can lead to further problems with drain collapse and subsidence. The information generated from the CCTV drain survey allows us to determine the best approach to repair your drain, saving both time and money.
Metro Rod Brighton & Gatwick would recommend having a CCTV Survey anytime, when there may be a suspected fault with the line. Usually, this becomes evident when there is repeat issues with the line such as blockages.
Are you planning an extension? Ideally, before planning to install a new bathroom, Kitchen or building an extension we urge that you carry out a CCTV survey. This is to ensure that:
- There are no defects on the drains that will be concealed by the extension.
- That any defects are identified and repaired prior to or during building works.
- That building works do not cause any damage to the asset short or long term.

Before a CCTV survey is undertaken, currents possible lines will have a brief pre-clean using high pressure water jetting to remove any loose debris in the line. This ensures that there is a clear view of the line, unless there is a more serious build-up of debris or attached deposits. The engineer will complete CCTV survey among with a drawing a map of the area, whilst on site. While undertaking the survey, the engineer will record any relevant observations of the line using national recognised WRC standards.
Once, the CCTV survey is completed the engineer is to then Wi-Fi it back to the office in order to be verified and then the report will be created.
