Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

We at Metro Rod Brighton & Gatwick ensure that all engineers are issued with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the activities they carry out and provide guidance on the standards required.

PPE is equipment to protect the operative or other affected persons against health or safety risks at work. It can include items such as hard hat, eye protection, overalls, Viz-Vest, gloves and safety boots which is our standard list however, there are other PPE for more specific tasks such confined spaces as for this they would need a gas detector and breathing equipment.

All our engineers get given a bag along with the standard PPE items, which contains spares, and other items they may need to change into depending on the activities at the job they are on.
